Visas and passports

To enter Canada, visitors need a passport, and a valid visa if arriving from a country from which one is required. United States citizens do not need a passport to enter Canada by land, but have to show a proof of citizenship such as a birth certificate, certificate of citizenship or naturalization, as well as photo identification. However, all passengers on an international flight are required to hold a valid passport (in addition to any other required documentation) to enter or depart the United States by air. For information and visitor requirements, visit the Canada Border Services Agency website.

When departing from Canada by plane, visitors transiting to their final destination via the U.S. should allow themselves plenty of time as U.S. Customs and Immigrations are handled upon departure in Montreal. Visit the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for information and links.

We will issue letters of invitation to registered delegates who require visas to enter Canada that will assist all bona fide applicants to travel to IASCL 2011. Unfortunately, as visas are issued at the discretion of individual immigration officers in Canadian diplomatic mission across the world, there is no centralized facility to guarantee universal approval. However, we will endeavor to advise and assist any delegates who experience difficulty in obtaining the necessary travel permission, and we will work closely with the Citizenship and Immigration Department of Canada to minimize difficulties.

Cancellation

The organizers reserve the right to cancel the conference in the event of any unpredictable event.

Insurance

The conference cannot accept liability for personal injuries or for loss or damage to property belonging to delegates, either during or as a result of the meeting. Please check the validity of your own personal insurance before traveling.
